BOOM! The event was very successful in my opinion. Everything ran smoothly and there was no problem our class couldn't fix. I started off overseeing the parking situation. Wendy and her boyfriend covered the vendors parking spots while I covered patrons. After an hour Lauren and Pantea sent two volunteers to cover my spot so I could walk around and manage stuff inside which was very nice of them! I then headed for the registration table with Ferdinand, Ana, Emery, and Najida. After they were fine, and settled I went to the giveaways and fruit stand table outside with Charlyn and Cindy. Grabbed a bagel and helped relieve my team for breaks for food and snacks. I participated in some of the dance classes like Zumba, Tai Chi, and Cheeve's workouts. I helped a couple vendors set up and put things away. Got to talk to Jason and they got a couple volunteers to help him walk around the park. The event was awesome, and we all had a lot of fun. Great memories with great people! Here's the Guest Relations team! (Wendy not included she went home too fast lol).

Prep Day before the Event

Alright the event is tomorrow! I got to OneGeneration at about 8:16 because of traffic and rain (sorry!). Helped rearrange tables, put up posters, and print out the papers we needed. Helped figure out the raffle situation as well as the giveaways. Cathy brought us delicious cookies, and we all left feeling that we covered all the corners for the event tomorrow, but we shall find out for sure tomorrow! Wish us luck haha

Floor Plan Map

The next day I went to One generation was to make the floor plan with Sunthus and Cathy. We had a list of the vendors, but we had to measure out exactly where to put the vendors and make sure we had sufficient tables and space. I remade the map with clearer directions for the class and Cathy. I hope this helps clarify the event for everyone!

4th day at OneGeneration

I came to Onegeneration before class so I attended the Tai Chi class first. Afterwards I talked to Cathy about vendors, and figuring out what everyone in my group would be doing, ensuring the survey questions are appropriate, the flyers are up to par with her expectations, and that the sign in sheets are correct. We had a meeting to discuss the progress we had made in the fair thus far, and talked about the floor plan afterwards.

3rd Day at OneGeneration

The next time I was at One generation I ran into Jason again, my friend from the first time. He remembered me and he seemed very happy to see me! I attended Cheeve’s fit while you sit class and some of those exercises were harder than I thought. Afterwards I accompanied Jason on his walk and we got to talk about his progress. We colored and shared  a few laughs. Afterwards I talked with Cathy and discussed the guest relations duties for the festival. I ended my day with a couple games of pool, but of course I lost miserably. But all in all it was a good day filled with happy faces.

Menchies

So to start the day off right I went to the wrong Menchies. I didn't realize it until the place wasn't open and a classmate text-ed me that she was already there. So I head over to the right location right next to CSUN. It went great! I took the early shift with Najida, Charlyn, and Emery. I approached every single person I could saying "hello folks, I'm with CSUN and OneGeneration a senior enrichment center trying to raise money for our event fighting diabetes. Could you simply show this flyer and we will receive a percentage, Thank you". We did a great job, if I do say so myself :)

2nd Day at OneGeneration

The second day at One generation was more intense. I started the day with Tai Chi which was a lot harder than I expected. The patrons at One Generation moved so smooth and seamless while I tripped over my own feet! After that I headed over to the pool table room where again I was happily surprised. All the gentlemen were so competitive, and so friendly. They schooled me on pool, and it was clear they were much better than me so I gracefully declined more matches, and I talked to them as they played. I learned a lot from them about pool like why those dots on the table were there. I thought ping pong would be much easier for me, but man oh man were they intense! They didn't play easy; they were serious and extremely accurate. I played for 2 hours and didn't win one stinking game. I left to help the kitchen and dispense food for the patrons. They had a huge cake because it was the day they celebrate the birthdays of the month. I helped clean up and even got a piece of cake, which was very kind of them.
